Job Information

Discover the charm of Fort Smith, a vibrant town of 2,500 residents nestled along the Alberta border. Here, you can experience the majestic presence of giant bison, the thrill of wild whitewaters, a rich cultural heritage, and the vast expanse of a national park. In this role, you will perform a range of diagnostic services, including chemistry, hematology, microbiology, phlebotomy, specimen processing, x-ray imaging, and electrocardiographs. You will ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results and provide standby coverage on a rotational basis, including evenings and weekends.

The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of radiology and proficiency in using diagnostic equipment to produce quality images for radiologist diagnosis. You should be skilled in handling small samples and repairing delicate instruments, as well as capable of communicating complex procedures in simple, layman's terms.

To be considered for this role, you must have a successful completion of a certification from an approved Combined Laboratory /X-ray Technologist (CLXT) or Certified Combined Technician (CCT) program.

Labour Market Supplement

The successful incumbent will receive a $11,000 supplement upon hire and an additional $11,000 supplement after completion of 12 months of continuous employment contingent on remaining employed in an eligible position for a further 12 months. This is a taxable benefit and will be subject to applicable deductions.
