install and maintain industrial production and process piping and welding systems.Essential Functions:Knows the properties of various rods and fluxes used in welding metalsRead and interpret sketches, blue prints, and isometric plans/drawingsAble to measure routings of pipe and fabricate pipe to fit existing in-line piping system; utilize instrumentation cut sheets to do take outs for fabrication of spool piecesPlan and layout sequence of installation to avoid obstructions Cut pipe using port-a-band saw, reciprocating saw, pipe cutters, power saw, cutting torch, and pipe cutting machineAssemble, fabricate and install variety of metal pipe and pipe fittings for both carbon steel and stainless steel Installation of pipe and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to job specifications.Secure pipe to structure with clamps, brackets, and hangers using hand toolsRemove slag and rough spots with a portable grinder, file or scraper as necessaryDetermine required equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniquesWork within precise limits or standards of accuracyRely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the jobPlan work and select proper toolsWork at heights without fearClean, bevel, prepare and install pipe with various fittings and weld jointsPerform layout, rigging and transportation of pipe, valves and fittingsThread pipe using threading machineAssemble and install a variety of metal or nonmetal pipe and pipe fittings, using threaded caulked, soldering, brazen, fused, or cemented joints and hand toolsMay assist in lifting, positioning and securing of material and work pieces during installationRespiratory protection is common and may be requiredResponsible for observing and complying with all company, safety and project policiesPerforms other duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibility: No Required:3+ years of experience with TIG and Stick pipe welding with various techniques including electric, gas, arc, or other equipment; or equivalent combination of vocational training and experienceMust pass ASME pipe welding test and background checkKnowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and proceduresKnowledge of industrial mechanical systemsField verify, routing, pipe systems prior to fabricationMust be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skillsMust be able to pass post-offer pre-employment drug screen, and may be required to satisfactorily complete additional background checks as required (i.e. DMV, criminal history)Must adhere to all company policy and proceduresMust be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned The work environment and physical demands required would be representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, and may include, but are not limited to the following: Work Environment:May work in varying temperatures;
