Position Overview
Gasket Guy of South Florida LLC is seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined
Installation Technician to join our growing team.
Our Installation Technicians travel to restaurants, hotels, country clubs, commercial kitchens, grocery stores, healthcare facilities, and other businesses throughout South Florida to inspect, measure, replace, and service commercial refrigeration gaskets and related equipment.
This is a hands-on field position. The ideal candidate is dependable, professional, comfortable working independently, and takes pride in completing quality work for our customers.
Previous gasket experience is not required. We will train the right person.
Primary Responsibilities
The Installation Technician will:
- Remove and install commercial refrigeration door and drawer gaskets.
- Service walk-in coolers and walk-in freezers.
- Replace gaskets on reach-in refrigerators and freezers, prep tables, undercounter units, drawers, and other commercial refrigeration equipment.
- Properly measure doors, drawers, and existing gaskets to identify correct replacement products.
- Inspect refrigeration doors for sealing problems, damaged hardware, alignment issues, and other conditions affecting proper operation.
- Identify and replace related hardware when required, including:
- Hinges
- Door closers
- Latches
- Handles
- Spring cartridges
- Other refrigeration door hardware
- Install strip curtains for walk-in coolers and freezers.
- Measure and install custom poly cutting boards and high-temperature Richlite cutting boards.
- Inspect and replace commercial kitchen hood filters when applicable.
- Assist with walk-in cooler/freezer door repairs and replacements.
- Use hand tools and specialty installation tools safely and correctly.
- Use controlled heat when necessary to properly shape and seat refrigeration gaskets.
- Perform final quality-control inspections to ensure doors close properly and gaskets provide a complete seal.
- Take required before-and-after photographs of completed work.
- Accurately document measurements, materials used, completed installations, and additional repairs that may be required.
- Maintain company tools, equipment, materials, and vehicle in clean and organized condition.
- Communicate professionally with customers, managers, kitchen staff, and facility personnel.
- Identify additional repair or replacement opportunities and communicate them to management.
- Follow company safety procedures and customer food-safety requirements at all times.

Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to:
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach throughout the workday.
- Work around commercial refrigeration and kitchen equipment.
- Work inside or around walk-in coolers and freezers for limited periods.
- Safely use step ladders when necessary.
- Lift and carry tools, materials, cutting boards, hardware, and equipment.
- Lift approximately 50 pounds independently when required.
- Perform repetitive hand and arm movements associated with removing and installing gaskets.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license.
- Clean and reliable driving record.
- Reliable transportation to designated company location or service area as required.
- Ability to use basic hand tools.
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
- Ability to use a smartphone for scheduling, photographs, work orders, and communication.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
- Ability to pass any company-required background or driving-record screening.
- Authorization to work in the United States.

Technicians are expected to:
- Introduce themselves professionally upon arrival.
- Confirm the requested work with the customer.
- Protect the customer's equipment and work area.
- Keep the work area clean and organized.
- Minimize disruption to kitchen operations whenever possible.
- Explain any additional problems discovered during the inspection.
- Never perform unauthorized additional work.
- Review completed work with the customer when appropriate.
- Leave the work area cleaner than it was found.
Quality Standards
Every installation must meet Gasket Guy of South Florida LLC standards.
Before leaving a location, technicians must verify:
- The correct gasket has been installed.
- All gasket corners are properly seated.
- The gasket is securely installed in the retainer.
- There are no twists, gaps, or improperly seated sections.
- The door or drawer closes correctly.
- The gasket makes consistent contact with the cabinet.
- Door hardware functions properly.
- Required photographs and work-order documentation have been completed.
- The customer work area has been cleaned.
Work Environment
Technicians work primarily at customer locations throughout South Florida.

Schedule
This is primarily a weekday field-service position, although occasional early-morning, evening, or special scheduling may be required based on customer needs.
Technicians should be prepared to travel between multiple customer locations during the workday.
