About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Auto Claims Supervisor to lead a claims team handling complex New York commercial automobile liability claims, including governmental exposure.

This fully remote leadership opportunity is ideal for an experienced claims professional with strong knowledge of New York regulations, bodily injury, property damage, and litigated and non-litigated claims who enjoys developing teams while maintaining high standards for claims quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and develop Claims Examiners and Claims Assistants, including performance management, evaluations, training, and workload oversight.

  • Oversee New York commercial auto liability, bodily injury, property damage, and litigated/non-litigated claims.

  • Review claim files, initial/periodic reviews, delays, denials, reserves, awards, and payments.

  • Approve reserve changes within authority up to $250,000 and payments up to $10,000.

  • Ensure compliance with New York claims regulations, No-Fault requirements, Regulation 68, client instructions, and internal procedures.

  • Conduct monthly file reviews and participate in client and agency audits.

  • Train staff on changing laws, claims procedures, and best practices.

  • Monitor caseloads, vendor performance, priority payments, and staffing requirements.

  • Address escalated claimant, vendor, and client concerns.

  • Prepare and evaluate weekly and monthly client reports.

  • Provide examiner coverage when needed.

Qualifications

  • Active New York Adjuster’s License – required.

  • 3–5+ years of related claims experience.

  • Strong New York commercial auto experience involving bodily injury and property damage.

  • Experience with litigated and non-litigated claims.

  • Claims supervisory/team leadership experience strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of New York statutory requirements and medical terminology.

  • Familiarity with Arbitration Forum and American Arbitration Association.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and deadline-management skills.

  • High school diploma/GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
