Commercial Build-Out & Core/Shell Project Manager

From preconstruction strategy to punch list and closeout, you will steer mid-sized commercial projects across office, retail, and mixed-use spaces. You will coordinate budgets and schedules, lead subcontractor teams, and keep clients and architects informed every step of the way.

A day in the life

Morning on site begins with a safety huddle and a look at the day’s plan. You confirm trade sequencing, review quality checkpoints, and verify that the schedule aligns with procurement and inspections. Midday brings updates to your cost trackers and master schedule, pricing discussions with subcontractors, and client or architect touchpoints. You walk the project to ensure code compliance, resolve field conflicts, and document progress. By late afternoon, you finalize RFIs or change pricing, update logs, and prepare tomorrow’s look-ahead to keep momentum through closeout.

What you will lead

• Full lifecycle delivery across scheduling, budgeting, quality assurance, safety, and closeout
• Subcontractor coordination, pricing, buyout support, and performance management
• Project documentation, cost tracking, and schedule maintenance
• Clear communication with clients, architects, inspectors, and internal teams
• Safety program adherence and compliance with building codes
• Daily problem solving for site logistics and trade coordination

What you bring

• 5+ years of commercial construction project management experience
• Demonstrated success on projects in the $1M–$10M+ range
• Strong grasp of commercial construction methods and trades
• Outstanding organization and communication skills
• Self-directed approach with the ability to run multiple projects at once
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites
• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred
