Blue Collars Plumbing & HVAC | Charleston, SC
At Blue Collars, we're not looking for someone who wants to sit behind a desk and wait for the phone to ring.
We're looking for someone hungry.
Someone who walks into a room looking for the next relationship, the next opportunity, and the next way to get Blue Collars in front of the right people.
The kind of person we occasionally have to tell to slow down — not someone we have to constantly push forward.
If you're competitive, energetic, creative, relentless, organized, and genuinely enjoy meeting people, this may be the role for you.
Yes, you'll sell.
But more importantly, you'll build relationships.
Our industry is smaller than people realize.
Property managers know other property managers. General contractors know developers. Facility directors move between hospitals, universities, municipalities, hotels, multifamily communities, and commercial properties.
Reputation travels.
Relationships matter.
And the person we hire needs to understand that the best account isn't always the one that produces one job.
It's the relationship that produces opportunities for years.
We want someone who enjoys becoming part of the communities and industries we serve.
Someone who wants to know the people, attend the events, join the associations, shake the hands, answer the calls, and become someone our customers recognize and trust.
There are salespeople who wait for networking opportunities.
We want someone who finds them.
If a new property management association is having an event, we should probably be there.
If there's a commercial real estate event happening downtown, you should know about it.
If a major customer has an emergency on a Saturday and needs someone from Blue Collars involved, you understand why responsiveness matters.
If there's an opportunity to put Blue Collars in front of 50 potential customers, your first instinct should be:
How do we get in that room?
This is a 24/7 plumbing and HVAC business.
That doesn't mean you'll work every hour of every day.
It does mean our customers sometimes need us outside of traditional business hours, and the right person understands that strong relationships are built by being responsive when it matters.
Some evening and weekend networking events, customer events, conferences, and community activities will be part of the position.
You probably:
You don't need someone reminding you every day to make calls, visit accounts, or follow up.
You're already thinking about the next move.
We do not want someone who only follows a corporate sales playbook.
If you have an idea, we want to hear it.
Think we should sponsor an unusual event?
Bring it up.
Think there's an association nobody else is paying attention to?
Research it.
Think we could create a better flyer, campaign, client event, giveaway, partnership, social media strategy, or networking concept?
Build the idea and bring it to the table.
Some ideas will work.
Some won't.
That's okay.
We would rather work with someone constantly looking for the next opportunity than someone afraid to try something new.
Relationship-building is still the heart of this role, but you also need to understand modern sales tools.
You should be comfortable with:
If you meet 20 people at an event and forget to follow up with 18 of them, the event didn't accomplish much.
Organization matters.
Our customers and prospects include:
Every industry has its own network.
Your job is to become part of those networks.
We don't expect you to walk in on Day One and already know every answer about plumbing and HVAC.
You'll have support from ownership, management, technicians, project teams, and the rest of Blue Collars.
We'll help you understand the services.
We'll help you navigate technical conversations.
We'll support you when you're pursuing large opportunities.
But we need you to create momentum.
We need you to open doors.
We need you to build relationships.
And we need you to follow through.
Blue Collars Plumbing & HVAC is growing quickly, and we're still early enough that the right person can make a significant impact.
This is not a position where every territory, process, and idea has already been decided for you.
There is room to build.
Room to experiment.
Room to create relationships that could turn into major company accounts.
And room to grow your own career as the company continues expanding.
We want someone who looks at that freedom and sees opportunity.
Success isn't just making calls.
It's producing results.
You'll be expected to:
We will measure results.
But we also understand that great commercial relationships take time to build.
The goal is to create both short-term opportunities and long-term partnerships.
Do you want a sales job where someone hands you a list and tells you who to call?
Or do you want the freedom and support to go build something?
If you're the person who wants to be in the room, meet the people, create the ideas, chase the opportunities, and build relationships that turn into real business, we'd like to talk.
Built on Excellence. Driven by Teamwork.
