Pay: $24.00 – $28.00 per hour (based on experience)

Your Role as a Commercial Carpenter / Drywall Mechanic

As a Commercial Carpenter / Drywall Mechanic, you will play a key role in the successful completion of commercial construction projects in MD/VA region. This position requires strong carpentry and drywall installation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining safety and quality standards.

You will be responsible for framing, drywall installation, acoustical ceiling systems, door and hardware installation, and other commercial interior construction tasks across multiple job sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Frame and install metal stud framing per plan and shop drawings
• Hang gypsum board (standard, fire-rated, moisture-resistant, abuse-resistant)
• Install acoustical ceiling tile (ACT) grid and tile
• Install commercial doors, frames, and door hardware
• Build soffits, bulkheads, and column wraps as required
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow all OSHA and site-specific safety requirements

Qualifications:

• Commercial drywall / carpentry experience preferred — compensation based on experience
• Proficiency with the hand and power tools of the trade
• Reliable transportation to job sites
• OSHA 10, CPR / First Aid certification appreciated, but not required

Physical Requirements

• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs repeatedly
• Stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work overhead for extended periods
• Work from ladders, scaffolds, and lifts
• Work in varying site conditions (heat, cold, dust)
