Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Commercial Construction Electrical Estimator to join our team. As an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs and materials required for electrical projects in the commercial construction industry. Your expertise will help our company make informed decisions, win bids, and deliver successful projects on time and within budget.
Responsibilities:
Project Assessment: Review architectural plans, specifications, and other project documents to gain a thorough understanding of the electrical requirements for commercial construction projects.
Cost Estimation: Utilize your knowledge of electrical systems, materials, labor costs, and industry standards to prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for electrical installations. This includes calculating quantities, researching prices, and determining labor and equipment requirements.
Bid Preparation: Collaborate with the project management team to prepare competitive bids and proposals for commercial construction projects. Ensure that estimates are completed within designated timeframes and align with company goals and profitability targets.
Vendor and Supplier Coordination: Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to gather accurate pricing information, negotiate costs, and secure the necessary electrical equipment and materials for projects.
Cost Analysis: Analyze and compare cost estimates against project budgets and specifications, identifying areas for potential cost savings or value engineering opportunities.
Documentation: Prepare detailed and organized documentation of all estimates, including breakdowns of material and labor costs, assumptions, and qualifications. Maintain accurate records of all correspondence, contracts, and agreements related to estimating activities.
Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders in the commercial construction industry to enhance project collaboration and secure future business opportunities.
Job Requirements:
4+ years experience bidding $4-$10million a month required
4+ years experience bidding on large electrical commercial projects (Hospitals, schools, manufacturing)
Experience leading a department is a plus
Experience with softwares such as Excel, Blue Beam, etc
