Commercial Construction Project Manager
Location: Danielsville, GA (Athens-area office). Travel throughout the United States is required based on assigned projects. Travel frequency varies by project and may include extended stays at project locations.

NGC is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial construction projects, including remodels, federal work, and large-scale facility projects. This role is ideal for someone who can manage schedules, budgets, subcontractors, documentation, and client communication with confidence. The right candidate will be organized, tech-savvy, professional, and able to lead projects in a fast-paced environment with minimal hand-holding. Travel expectation: about two weeks onsite at the start of each project, then a few days at a time several times throughout the project, and as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, and project documentation.
- Review drawings, specifications, scopes, permits, licenses, badging, and approvals before work begins.
- Lead site superintendents day to day by setting the schedule, sequencing trades, and reviewing daily reports and photos.
- Direct subcontractors and vendors while tracking deliveries, long-lead materials, and field progress.
- Travel to project sites for kickoff, mobilization, inspections, turnovers, and issue resolution.
- Manage project financials in Autodesk Construction Cloud Cost Management, including forecasting cost-to-complete and protecting project margins.
- Price and process PCOs/change orders, review subcontractor invoices, and approve pay applications.
- Prepare monthly client pay applications in AIA G702/G703 format.
- Manage submittals, RFIs, closeout documentation, and federal contract requirements, including Davis-Bacon certified payroll when applicable.
- Publish weekly project reports and keep leadership, clients, and stakeholders informed with clear, proactive communication.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of project management experience in commercial construction required.
- Experience with occupied-facility remodels, federal/government work, or national-account programs strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in different states.
- Experience directing field superintendents remotely and holding teams accountable through daily reporting.
- Strong working knowledge of construction means and methods, sequencing, safety, scheduling, and cost control.
- Proficiency with Autodesk Construction Cloud, Smartsheet, and Google Workspace preferred.
- Comfortable adopting new technology and AI-assisted tools used across operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with owners, construction management firms, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Willingness and ability to travel nationwide, including approximately two weeks onsite at each project start.
- Valid driver's license required.
- PMP or similar certification is a plus.
Pay and Benefits
- Full-time W2 employment.
- Salary: $90,000 - $135,000 per year, based on experience.
- Performance-based bonus eligibility. Weekly pay cycle.
- Performance bonus of 1% of eligible project gross profit, with total annual bonus potential up to 15% of base salary.
