This position will report to Nash Plumbing and Mechanical, LLC, a subsidiary of HB Global.
HB Global, LLC is seeking a skilled Commercial Construction Welder to join our team, responsible for performing various welding tasks on commercial construction projects according to specifications and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding procedure specifications (WPS).
- Specifically for this position, the ability to weld steel pipe, schedule 40
- Fabricate and assemble structural metal products, such as framework or shells for machinery, tanks, and other commercial structures.
- Cut, grind, and prepare metal surfaces for welding.
- Operate and maintain welding equipment, including welders, torches, grinders, and other power tools.
- Inspect welds for quality and adherence to specifications, performing repairs as needed.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with other tradespeople and project managers to ensure efficient project completion.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Troubleshoot welding issues and perform minor equipment maintenance.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a recognized welding program or apprenticeship.
- Proven experience as a Commercial Construction Welder, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- 6G certified or the ability to obtain 6G certification
- Proficient in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, Stick, and FCAW.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols accurately.
- Strong understanding of welding safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation to various job sites.
