Barnes Aerospace is looking for a bold, hands-on commercial leader to help shape our future. The Director, Metallic Hot Forming, Fabrication Products and Airframe Products owns some of Barnes Aerospace's most critical OEM relationships-driving revenue growth, margin performance, and long-term value. As the single-threaded owner for assigned accounts across commercial and military programs, this leader engages customers at the highest levels and partners cross-functionally to deliver results.
Core Responsibilities:
Strategic Account Ownership
- Own key OEM accounts for hot formed, fabricated, and machined airframe products
- Serve as product specialist supporting OEM engine account teams
- Develop and execute integrated commercial and military account strategies
- Build senior-level relationships across customer engineering, supply chain, procurement, and leadership
- Drive multi-year account plans aligned with Barnes Aerospace growth objectives
Profitability & Performance
- Partner with operations to achieve profitability and margin targets
- Lead post-award commercial management, including scope changes, expedited orders, and non-standard services
- Execute recovery and improvement plans to restore or exceed profit targets
- Ensure pricing discipline, contract compliance, and margin transparency
Growth & Value Creation
- Drive organic growth through new wins, content expansion, and share-of-wallet growth
- Capture new business across engines, nacelles, and structures
- Balance growth, margin discipline, and risk management
Commercial Leadership
- Influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
- Align engineering, operations, supply chain, finance, and site leadership around customer priorities
- Deliver clear, data-driven communication internally and externally
Forecasting & Business Management
- Own revenue, margin, and risk forecasting for assigned accounts
- Manage complex, global, multi-site customer dynamics
Team Development
- Operate initially as a hands-on individual contributor with opportunity to build account teams
- Mentor account managers and matrixed commercial resources
Qualifications:
Required Experience
- Extensive experience selling to large aerospace OEMs
- Proven ownership of complex OEM accounts
- Demonstrated record of profitable growth
- Executive-level customer and internal credibility
Preferred Background
- Aerospace airframe or engine components, or highly engineered manufacturing
- Engineering or supply chain background transitioning into commercial leadership
- Multi-site, international experience
- Exposure to private equity-backed or high-growth environments
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required; technical background preferred
