We are seeking an experienced Commercial Electrical Project Manager to oversee commercial and industrial electrical construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout. This position will take ownership of project schedules, budgets, field coordination, procurement, and client communication while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
The ideal candidate has a strong background working for an electrical contractor or subcontractor, understands commercial electrical systems and installation practices, and has experience managing multiple projects with full responsibility for financial and operational performance.
Responsibilities
Manage multiple commercial and industrial electrical construction projects from award through final completion.
Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, labor forecasts, procurement plans, and cost projections.
Coordinate field operations with superintendents, foremen, field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, general contractors, engineers, architects, inspectors, and other project stakeholders.
Review electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other construction documents.
Track project costs, labor productivity, forecasts, and profitability throughout the project lifecycle.
Identify and resolve schedule, budget, procurement, and field-related issues before they impact project performance.
Lead project meetings and communicate progress, milestones, financial performance, and potential risks.
Coordinate material purchasing, equipment deliveries, subcontractor scheduling, and other project logistics.
Prepare, track, and manage change orders and ensure additional work is properly documented and approved.
Support inspections, testing, commissioning, punch-list completion, and final project turnover.
Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes, project specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards.
Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, vendors, and project partners.
Requirements
5+ years of project management experience in commercial or industrial electrical construction.
Previous experience working for an electrical contractor or electrical subcontractor is required.
Valid Connecticut E-1 or E-2 Electrical License required.
Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems, installation methods, construction sequencing, and industry practices.
Proven experience managing electrical projects from preconstruction through final closeout.
Strong background in project budgeting, forecasting, cost control, procurement, change orders, and labor management.
Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, specifications, contracts, and construction documents.
Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar construction management software.
Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to independently manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
Candidates available to start within the next month are preferred.
