Shape the way businesses open their doors

Vortex Doors, recognized for top-tier service and a customer-first mindset in commercial and industrial door repair, is hiring Service Technicians. Whether you bring prior door experience or you’re just getting started, you’ll learn to install, fix, and maintain a wide range of entry systems and hardware that keep facilities safe and running smoothly.

A day in the life

You start your morning reviewing the day’s work orders, stocking your truck, and heading to job sites. One stop may involve replacing broken springs and hinges; the next could be calibrating an access control closer or verifying code compliance on a newly installed storefront door. Throughout the day, you communicate clearly with customers, document your steps, and verify each repair meets Vortex standards for safety and quality.

What you’ll handle

  • Install and repair a broad range of commercial doors using the right tools and practices.
  • Diagnose and complete routine repairs on components such as springs, hinges, locks, and electrical parts.
  • Set up and adjust hardware including locks, handles, door closers, and access control systems.
  • Confirm every install and repair meets applicable safety and building code requirements.
  • Engage with customers, explain findings and options, and recommend cost-effective solutions.
  • Record service visits, work performed, parts used, and results; submit accurate reports as needed.
  • Troubleshoot issues quickly and thoroughly, ensuring dependable operation.
  • Perform final quality checks to ensure work aligns with company standards.

Why Vortex

  • Industry-best training designed to accelerate your growth.
  • Hands-on development across commercial/retail door openings, hardware, and storefront glazing.
  • Training on manual doors and dock equipment for industrial openings.
  • Hollow metal door, frame, and hardware training to broaden your skill set.
  • A strong safety culture that puts your well-being first.
  • A positive work environment with recognition and rewards.
  • Comprehensive health benefits, 401K match, 8 company paid holidays, and PTO.
  • Company-provided uniforms and an annual boot allowance.

Schedule

Full-time shifts are available between Vortex business hours of 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential overtime and on-call hours.

What you bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of commercial door service experience is a plus (entry-level candidates welcome).
