Description
MBA Consulting Services, Inc. (MBA CSi) is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced CommercialFacility/Building Assessor to support the U.S. Postal Service’s Facility Services Organization. In this high-impact role, you will be responsible for conducting on-site building assessments, estimating repair needs, and ensuring the integrity of facility condition data to support long-term capital and maintenance planning.
You’ll play a key role in identifying and documenting critical facility issues—especially those that pose safety risks or contribute to structural deterioration—and support the development of a 5-year plan for Repair & Alteration (R&A) and Capital Projects. This position is based out of our Plano, TX office and requires up to 75% travel throughout the assigned region.
Responsibilities
Develop and manage inspection schedules aligned with USPS Facility Services Organization goals.
Perform detailed building inspections in accordance with USPS protocols.
Evaluate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
Calculate Current Replacement Value (CRV) and create Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) cost estimates for needed repairs.
Identify and document maintenance issues beyond routine upkeep, especially those with life safety implications.
Compile and validate Facility Condition Index (FCI) data.
Upload inspection documentation, including photos and reports, into the Infrastructure Condition Assessment Module (ICAM).
Conduct QA/QC reviews of assessments completed by USPS Plant and Small Facility teams.
Ensure data accuracy to maintain the credibility of the deferred maintenance backlog.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s DegreePreferred
Minimum 5 years’ experience conducting facility inspections or related assessments
Hands-on knowledge of MEP systems and general building infrastructure
Strong organizational and data management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% within the region
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance
Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
