Commercial Framing Carpenter

Commercial Wood Framing Opportunity | Immediate Start

TradeWorX is hiring a Commercial Wood Framing Carpenter for a new commercial construction project in Altoona, Pennsylvania. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with previous wood framing, rough carpentry, or commercial carpentry experience who can work safely, follow layout, and maintain production pace on an active jobsite. This assignment is the immediate starting opportunity, but our goal is to build long-term relationships with dependable tradespeople and connect qualified employees with future projects throughout the region as assignments conclude.

Pay & Schedule:
$23.00 $26.00 per hour based on experience and demonstrated skill level. Monday through Friday with a 7:00 AM start. Overtime may be available based on project needs.

Job Duties:

• Client out and frame commercial interior and exterior wood walls
• Measure, cut, assemble, and install studs, top and bottom plates, headers, blocking, and backing
• Frame rough openings for doors, windows, and other wall penetrations
• Read basic prints, wall layouts, dimensions, and field measurements
• Use circular saws, miter saws, levels, squares, chalk lines, nail guns, and other carpentry tools
• Check framing for plumb, level, square, spacing, and proper fastening
• Coordinate with other trades and maintain a clean, safe work area
• Support punch-list and framing corrections as needed

Requirements:

• Previous experience with wood framing, rough carpentry, or commercial carpentry
• Ability to measure accurately and cut framing materials to specification
• Familiarity with wall layout, stud spacing, headers, blocking, backing, and rough openings
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, saws, and pneumatic fastening equipment
• Reliable transportation to the Altoona, Pennsylvania, jobsite
• Dependable attendance and ability to report by 7:00 AM
• Basic carpentry tools and required PPE required

Ideal Candidate:

• Has hands-on experience framing walls on commercial or larger construction projects
• Can explain the framing work personally performed
• Understands plumb, level, square, layout, spacing, and fastening requirements
• Works safely, follows direction, and maintains a productive pace
• Is reliable, coachable, and prepared for consistent weekday work
