Description
Bring your commercial HVAC installation experience to a steady, project-focused team serving the Triangle Area with small to mid-size construction work. This Commercial HVAC Installer / Install Mechanic opportunity is based in Triangle Area, NC (primarily Durham, Wake, and Orange counties) and offers hands-on work installing rooftop and split-system equipment and ductwork for real commercial builds.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Commercial HVAC Install Mechanic position include:
- 3–4+ years of hands-on commercial HVAC installation experience on construction projects
- Background primarily in commercial HVAC installation (not HVAC service/troubleshooting or residential service)
- Ability to read construction plans and install commercial HVAC equipment and ductwork in the field
- Experience installing packaged rooftop units and split-system/DX equipment on commercial new construction or renovations
- Strong ductwork installation skills (about 50% of the work involves ductwork)
- Comfort working in a 2-person crew and overseeing a helper with limited onsite training
- Refrigerant piping and gas piping experience is valuable (company can teach piping for the right installer)
- Maintain safe, quality-focused installation work and communicate installation needs and job progress
Salary: $28–$38/hr (targeted $38/hr for a strong, experienced installer).
Benefits: PTO is negotiable at hire (typically starting at 2 weeks), paid holidays, partially company-paid health insurance after 90 days, dental and vision, life insurance, and a 401(k).
