This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to build a long-term career in the commercial HVAC industry while working alongside experienced technicians and receiving hands-on training.
The ideal candidate is dependable, eager to learn, customer-focused, and able to work independently as well as part of a team. As a Commercial HVAC Service Apprentice, you will assist with maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial HVAC systems while developing the technical skills needed to advance into a Service Technician role.
Position Responsibilities
- Assist experienced technicians with maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial HVAC equipment.
- Learn to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance on commercial HVAC systems.
- Assist with equipment startups, repairs, and replacements.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Safely operate ladders, scissors lifts, and genie lifts.
- Learn basic sheet metal fabrication and installation practices.
- Develop knowledge of air balancing principles and techniques.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and represent Innovative Air professionally at all job sites.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- HVAC trade school enrollment or completion preferred.
- Basic understanding of HVAC systems and tools.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
- Ability to lift, carry, and work with HVAC equipment and materials.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude.
