Commercial Sheet Metal Mechanics Responsibilities: - Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout requirements
- Install and secure sheet metal structures and equipment such as ductwork, fittings, and hangers
- Fabricate or alter parts at construction sites using shears, hammers, punches, and drills
- Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff, and smooth surfaces, seams, and joints of assembled parts
- Install insulation within ductwork and ensure proper sealing to prevent energy loss
- Comply with all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment and proper handling of materials
Commercial Sheet Metal Mechanic Requirements: - 3 + years of experience in installation of different duct (rectangle, spiral, oval, flex, etc.)
- Assemble fiberglass and sheet metal ductwork
- Measure, size, cut, and apply duct insulation
- Must have ALL tools required for the trade
- Strong working knowledge of job site safety - OSHA 10 preferred
- Ability to work well with others, take instruction and work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work a 40 hour workweek every week
- Must be able to pass background and drug test
- Must have OWN reliable transportation
