A Day in the Life

You arrive on site, review the design set and submittals, and join a quick safety huddle. From there, you’ll set equipment, run copper refrigerant and hydronic lines (brazing, soldering, threading, pro‑pressing), and build out sheet metal ductwork from rough‑in through final. You’ll coordinate with a foreman, flag needed materials, and travel to the next commercial or industrial site as schedules demand. Most days, you’ll work independently with limited oversight—delivering quality installs against firm deadlines while representing the company with professionalism.

Core Responsibilities

• Install commercial/industrial HVAC systems, including AC units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, ventilation, and controls.
• Fabricate and install copper refrigerant and hydronic piping (brazing, soldering, threading, pro‑pressing).
• Complete sheet metal duct systems from rough‑in to finish.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, specifications, and submittals to execute accurate installations.
• Work independently across diverse HVAC equipment with minimal supervision.
• Provide the foreman with precise material lists and updates.
• Maintain a professional, ethical presence on active construction sites and customer facilities.
• Operate effectively in fast‑paced environments with strict timelines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC installation experience.
• Ability to perform trade math for accurate equipment placement and system layout.
• Comfortable reading and applying drawings, specifications, and submittal sheets.
• Proficient with HVAC and general construction tools.
• General understanding of OSHA practices and HVAC operating/control systems.
• EPA/OSHA certifications are a plus, not a requirement.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record; willingness to travel between job sites.
• Knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems is a plus.
