Commercial HVACR Field Service Technician
Step into a day where your expertise keeps commercial environments running at peak comfort and efficiency. You’ll travel to customer sites, evaluate systems, and keep operations moving with safe, high‑quality work and clear communication.
What your day looks like
- Operate, diagnose, repair, replace, and perform preventive maintenance on commercial heating and air conditioning systems.
- Troubleshoot and install HVACR equipment, including electrical components, using hand tools and diagnostic instruments.
- Work hands-on with boilers, chillers, and cooling towers—bringing deep technical know‑how to complex equipment.
- Coordinate with the Scheduler to prioritize and complete your workload on time.
- Turn service calls into positive customer experiences by evaluating equipment thoroughly, presenting honest options, and respecting customer decisions.
- Follow company procedures and safety standards every step of the way; arrive on time and treat each workspace with care.
- Collaborate effectively with coworkers and continue developing your skills through ongoing learning.
What you’ll bring
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus 2 years of experience maintaining equipment.
- Universal EPA certification and a valid driver’s license with a strong driving record.
- KY Journeymen’s License required.
- Clear communication with teammates and supervisors regarding work in progress, completed tasks, and upcoming plans.
- Ability to complete job documentation and required forms accurately.
- Comfort reading drawings/prints and following written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
- Working knowledge of PCs, tablets, and smartphones.
- Sound judgment to make minor decisions on setups and work sequences.
- Self-starter willing to travel regionally to MI, IL, OH, KY, IN, and WV.
- Familiarity with piping, chillers, med gas, controls, and related systems.
- Physical capability to stand, sit, or squat for extended periods; walk job sites; lift up to 50 lbs unassisted; push, pull, reach, stoop; and work from ladders and lifts.
- Comfort working on traditional job sites where noise levels and temperatures vary by season.
