The Commercial and Industrial Field Deputy is a full-time position responsible for collecting verifying and maintaining accurate commercial industrial and residential property data for assessment purposes. This position conducts field inspections maintains property records and assists the Commercial Department in ensuring accurate and equitable property assessments. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and organization skills exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work independently in both field and office environments while providing outstanding customer service. Measure structures and verify exterior dimensions using accepted assessment standards and established County procedures. Inspect new construction remodeling projects demolitions and property improvements. Assist department managers with property research data collection and special projects. Obtain Indiana Appraisal Certification Levels I II and III. Required to attend meetings training programs and continuing education courses. Qualifications Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record. Strong organizational analytical and time management skills. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn specialized assessment software GIS applications and other County technology. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to read and interpret building plans sketches property record cards and construction information or the aptitude to quickly learn. EducationExperience High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates of Bachelors Degree in Business Real Estate Construction Management Engineering Surveying Geography Public Administration or a related field. Physical Requirements Work outdoors in all weather conditions. Frequent walking on uneven terrain construction sites and undeveloped property Ability to walk long distances climb stairs crouch kneel
