A growth-oriented commercial trades organization is seeking a hands-on leader to oversee the Electrical Install group within the Commercial division. This role owns day-to-day operations, profitability, scheduling, team development, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement across electrical installation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

- Partner with estimating to conduct site walks, validate scopes, and prepare fast-turn estimates and proposals.
- Present estimates to customers and support closeout of quick-hit projects.
- Lead people management: monthly check-ins, quarterly performance reviews, coaching, and hiring/selection for the Commercial Electrical Install team.
- Run weekly labor planning: assign job numbers, build crews, and align staffing with workload.
- Coordinate equipment and logistics (trailers, lifts, specialty tools).
- Collaborate with internal HVAC and Plumbing Install counterparts to drive cross-trade execution.
- Oversee material planning and procurement in partnership with Purchasing.
- Work with project coordinators to secure permits, submit utility work orders, monitor progress, manage billing, and ensure thorough project closeout.
- Participate in WIP/financial review meetings; track budgets, margins, and schedule performance.
- Lead monthly department meetings to share updates, performance metrics, and best practices.



Key Qualifications:

- 10-15 years of experience leading commercial electrical installation projects and crews.
- Strong field background on commercial job sites with working knowledge of the NEC and applicable building codes.
- Proven experience estimating and writing proposals for electrical install work.
- Understanding of material takeoffs, purchasing, and vendor negotiations.
- Demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams: coaching, feedback, and performance management (including hiring decisions).
- Organized, detail-driven, and effective at managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Skilled at conflict resolution, continuous learning, and driving accountability.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software; general computer literacy.
- Technical degree in electricity/electrical technology is a plus (not required).
