Salary: $140,000 - $155,000 per year

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week

About the Role

I-5 Design Build is seeking an experienced Commercial Interior Designer to develop visually compelling, functional environments for casino, hospitality, restaurant, entertainment, and other high-end commercial projects. You will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, estimators, fabricators, construction professionals, and project managers. Because these disciplines work together from I-5's Lacey headquarters, the team can review ideas, resolve technical challenges, and make decisions quickly.

A major part of the position involves selecting and specifying materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, wallcoverings, tile, and other commercial design elements. Candidates must be proficient in SketchUp and able to present a professional portfolio demonstrating relevant high-end commercial work.

An architecture license or interior-design license is not required. Relocation assistance may be considered for the right candidate with the appropriate level of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop interior-design concepts for casino, hospitality, restaurant, entertainment, and high-end commercial spaces
• Create and develop designs using SketchUp
• Select and specify finishes, materials, furniture, fixtures, wallcoverings, tile, and related products
• Prepare presentations, layouts, finish concepts, and visual materials
• Research commercial products, manufacturers, vendors, and material options
• Coordinate design decisions with architecture, engineering, estimating, fabrication, and construction teams
• Review concepts for functionality, constructability, quality, and alignment with project goals
• Incorporate feedback while protecting the overall design vision
• Organize design selections, specifications, and supporting project information
• Help move projects efficiently from early concept through fabrication and construction

Required Qualifications

• Significant commercial interior-design experience
• Experience designing hospitality, casino, gaming, restaurant, entertainment, cruise-ship, or comparable high-end commercial environments
• Strong proficiency with SketchUp
• Experience selecting and specifying commercial materials, finishes, furniture, and fixtures
• Knowledge of commercial wallcoverings, tile, furniture vendors, and finish manufacturers
• Strong visual, presentation, and graphic-communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with architecture, engineering, fabrication, and construction professionals
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly communicative environment
• Professional portfolio demonstrating relevant commercial interior-design work
• Ability to work full-time from I-5's Lacey office

Preferred Qualifications

• Casino or gaming design experience
• Experience designing luxury hotels, cruise ships, restaurants, or entertainment environments
• Familiarity with custom millwork, architectural features, specialty fabrication, or signage
• Experience working within an integrated design-build company
• Experience taking designs beyond concept and coordinating them through fabrication and construction

Pay and Benefits

• W-2 position
• Salary: $140,000 - $155,000 per year
