Commercial Interiors & Renovations Project Manager (General Contractor)
Location: Woburn, MA 01801
Pay: $150,000 - $200,000
Step into a leadership role with a long-standing commercial general contractor delivering interior build-outs and renovation work across Greater Boston. You’ll guide projects from preconstruction planning through punch list and closeout, balancing schedule, budget, quality, and safety while collaborating with a sharp field team and trusted trade partners.
A Day in the Role
Morning starts with a schedule check and coordination touchpoint with your Superintendent. You confirm procurement milestones, align subcontractor start dates, and review any open RFIs. By mid-day, you’re refining scopes and conceptual budgets for an upcoming tenant improvement, then walking an active site to validate progress and forecast cost-to-complete. The afternoon includes a client/architect/engineer meeting to resolve details on finishes, followed by processing change orders, approving pay applications, and mentoring an Assistant Project Manager on drawing review best practices.
What You’ll Lead
- Plan and manage multiple commercial interior renovation and tenant improvement projects, including initiatives exceeding $10M.
- Own the project budget and schedule; forecast, track, and report progress with clarity and accuracy.
- Prepare scopes of work, estimates, and conceptual budgets during preconstruction.
- Interpret and administer construction drawings and specifications; drive RFI/submittal workflows.
- Negotiate and manage subcontracts; handle change orders and purchasing activities.
- Run project meetings with clients, architects, engineers, and field teams; document decisions and action items.
- Partner closely with Superintendents to sequence work and maintain milestones.
- Review billings, assist with closeout documentation, and ensure a clean turnover.
- Coach and support Assistant Project Managers as they grow their capabilities.
What You Bring
- Proven project management experience in commercial construction, with emphasis on interiors, renovations, and fit-outs.
- Solid estimating and budgeting skills with a track record of delivering on financial targets.
- Strong ability to read drawings and specifications and translate them into actionable plans.
- Excellent communication, organization, and meeting leadership.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Procore, Fieldwire, or similar platforms is a plus.
- Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License (CSL) preferred.
Why You’ll Thrive Here
- Competitive compensation aligned to experience.
- A robust, steady pipeline of commercial interiors and renovation projects.
- Meaningful career progression within a stable, growing company.
- Opportunities to manage a diverse portfolio throughout Greater Boston.
