The Commercial Journeyman Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial buildings such as offices, retail spaces, schools, and industrial facilities. This role requires strong technical skills, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to complete projects efficiently and safely
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, equipment, and fixtures in commercial settings
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine layout and installation procedures
- Run conduit (EMT, rigid, flexible) and pull wire according to specifications
- Install panels, switchgear, lighting systems, controls, and outlets
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform repairs in a timely manner
- Ensure all work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes (NEC)
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits using appropriate tools
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and team members to complete projects on schedule
- Maintain tools, equipment, and job site safety standards
- Train and mentor apprentices as needed
