Keep Kitchens Running. Keep Guests Happy.

At Colliers, we power great experiences by taking ownership and doing what’s right for our clients and communities. As a Commercial Kitchen & HVAC/R Field Service Technician, you’ll be the trusted expert keeping Chick-fil-A restaurants in your local market operating at peak performance.

A day in your boots

You start the morning reviewing service level requests and parts inventory in your well-organized vehicle. First stop: a fryer temperature issue on a Henny Penny unit. You diagnose, consult the Chick-fil-A Technical Assistance Team, install the needed part, document the work order on your mobile app, and get the line back on schedule. By mid-day, you’re on a roof checking a Lennox HVAC system, then inside servicing a Traulsen reach-in and verifying a Hobart mixer. Along the way, you coordinate with manufacturers for parts identification, keep safety front and center, and close out accurate time and materials before heading to a short after-hours emergency call.

What you’ll do

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, install, and remove commercial kitchen equipment and related systems
  • Service hot-side cooking equipment, refrigeration systems (including sealed systems), specialty foodservice units, and base building HVAC systems
  • Respond to Operator service requests within established SLAs
  • Work on brands such as Henny Penny, Follett, Lennox (HVAC), Traulsen, Hobart mixers, Champion dishwashers, and Garland Grill
  • Collaborate with manufacturers for diagnostic support and parts identification
  • Consult with the Chick-fil-A Technical Assistance Team while onsite
  • Install ordered parts accurately and professionally
  • Complete precise documentation: work orders, time reporting, receipts, and truck stock
  • Maintain an orderly service vehicle, tools, and parts inventory
  • Support on-call emergency response during non-standard hours
  • Follow safe work practices and accident-prevention procedures
  • Participate in ongoing OEM training and certification programs
  • Engage productively with equipment partners, suppliers, and vendors supporting the service network
  • Meet and maintain productivity benchmarks

What you bring

  • Technical trade school training and/or relevant hands-on experience
  • 5+ years in a related trade (or equivalent experience)
  • Background in one or more: sealed refrigeration/HVAC, electrical, mechanical, process controls, hot-side cooking equipment and/or mechanical power transmission
  • Experience servicing kitchen equipment, facilities, or construction systems
  • EPA Universal Certification
  • Valid state driver’s license, proof of insurance, and a safe driving record (MVR required)
  • Ability to safely operate company vehicles
  • Strong mechanical aptitude; expert troubleshooting
  • Ability to read diagrams and schematics
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and mobile service applications
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Self-starter who thrives working independently with a positive, service-first mindset

Travel

  • 100% travel within a defined local market
  • Limited overnight travel, primarily for onboarding and training

Physical demands

  • Work extended periods during emergency or priority situations (including overtime)
  • Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
  • Climb ladders and stairs up to two stories (ladder safety training provided; roof access ladders are provided—loading/unloading a large ladder from the van is not typical)
  • Frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
  • Extended standing and walking on even and uneven surfaces
  • Frequent use of arms, wrists, and hands to operate tools and machinery
  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

Proficiencies and tools

  • Preventive Maintenance planning
