Commercial Kitchen & Refrigeration Parts Specialist
Full-Time Onsite – West Babylon, NY
Air Comfort Service Group is seeking an organized and knowledgeable Commercial Kitchen and Refrigeration Parts Specialist to support our field technicians and service operations. This position is responsible for identifying, sourcing, ordering, receiving, organizing, and distributing parts used in commercial kitchen and refrigeration equipment.
The ideal candidate understands commercial equipment parts, works well in a fast-paced service environment, and can communicate effectively with technicians, vendors, and office personnel.
What You'll Do
- Identify parts using model and serial numbers, equipment manuals, diagrams, and vendor resources
- Source and order commercial kitchen and refrigeration parts
- Respond promptly to parts requests from technicians and service managers
- Obtain pricing, availability, and estimated delivery dates from vendors
- Prepare purchase orders and maintain accurate purchasing records
- Receive deliveries and verify quantities, pricing, and condition
- Label, organize, and maintain parts inventory
- Issue parts to technicians and accurately record inventory transactions
- Track open orders, backorders, special orders, and emergency requests
- Process returns, credits, core charges, and warranty claims
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels for commonly used parts
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory
- Coordinate parts pickups and deliveries when necessary
- Keep the shop, parts room, and storage areas clean, organized, and secure
- Communicate potential delays or parts issues to the appropriate team members
- Perform other related duties as assigned
What You Bring
- Experience with commercial kitchen, refrigeration, HVAC, appliance, or mechanical parts strongly preferred
- Ability to identify parts using model numbers, serial numbers, photographs, and equipment diagrams
- Familiarity with manufacturers such as True, Traulsen, Hoshizaki, Manitowoc, Beverage-Air, Delfield, Hobart, Vulcan, Frymaster, and Blodgett is a plus
- Strong computer, data-entry, and internet research skills
- Experience with inventory or service-management software preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple urgent requests and changing priorities
- Clear and professional communication skills
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record preferred
- Ability to lift and move parts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and work in a shop or warehouse environment
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting pay of $30.00 per hour
- Enrollment in Local 638B under the Shop classification following successful completion of the first 90 days of employment
- Upon union enrollment, applicable union wages and benefits will be provided in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement
