Commercial Real Estate Leasing Attorney

Our Client is seeking a mid-to-senior level Commercial Leasing Attorney to join its Real Estate Group in our Atlanta, GA or Bethesda, MD office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial leasing and the ability to manage transactions independently while delivering practical, client-focused legal advice.
Responsibilities
- Serve as lead counsel on commercial leasing transactions
- Draft and negotiate leases and related agreements, including:
- Letters of intent
- Work letters
- Assignment and transfer documents
- Lender subordination agreements and SNDAs
- Advise clients on market lease terms and risk considerations
- Represent landlords across multiple asset classes, including office, retail, and industrial sectors
- Manage leasing transactions from initial negotiation through execution
- Work directly with clients, brokers, property managers, and opposing counsel
- Collaborate with partners and supervise junior attorneys as appropriate
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial leasing
- Active bar admission in the applicable jurisdiction
- Experience with office, retail, and industrial leases
- Strong knowledge of leasing market standards
- Excellent negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple matters efficiently
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
