    Description

    We are seeking a Commercial Lending Underwriter - NOLA for the Commercial Lending Department.

    The Commercial Lending Underwriter is accountable for analyzing and underwriting potential loans on complex commercial loan applications across a broad spectrum of asset types. Underwriter is to determine whether the transaction and the potential borrower presents an acceptable level of risk according to policy. The Commercial Lending Underwriter is accountable for assisting the Portfolio Manager with the daily underwriting activities to ensure the completion of quality, sound and timely underwriting decisions that will maintain and enhance the credit quality of our commercial portfolio. The underwriter is required to stay abreast of trends in the commercial lending industry, to inform management of potential impacts to our business quality and quantity.

    Highlights:

    • Perform credit analysis and due diligence on new loan requests, renewals/modification, and existing borrowers to aid the credit decision making and maintenance process.
    • Prepare analytical credit memoranda which are accurate and insightful including final underwriting and risk rating recommendations for approval.
    • Evaluate collateral evaluations and appraisals within Policy and Guidelines.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships across Credit Human to ensure department production objectives and goals are obtained.
    • Act as subject matter expert in the area of commercial lending underwriting, collateral and credit risk.

    Experience:

    Required

    • 3+ years of commercial underwriting and credit analysis experience

    Preferred

    • 5+ years of commercial underwriting and credit analysis experience

    Education:

    Required

    • Bachelor's Degree in related field of study such as Accounting, Finance, Business

    Skills & Knowledge:

    Required

    • Detail oriented

    • Excellent communication skills
    • Excellent problem-solving skills
    • Excellent listening skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Work, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)
    • Expertise in financial statement, income tax returns, loan structuring, cash flow analysis

    Preferred

    • Proficient in LoanVantage, IBIS, and Symitar

    Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-5:30 pm

    Level of Work: 2CA
