Overview:

At Alera Group, our Property & Casualty team helps businesses protect their assets, manage risk, and plan confidently for the future. We're seeking a Commercial Lines Account Manager to join our growing team and support an established book of approximately 70 commercial accounts across a diverse portfolio including contractors, transportation, manufacturing, healthcare, landscaping, and other small to middle-market businesses.
In this role, you'll be responsible for delivering exceptional client service, managing renewals, coordinating with carriers and producers, and ensuring accurate and timely account management activities. Success in this position requires strong communication, organization, and the ability to prioritize competing deadlines while building lasting client relationships that drive retention and service excellence.

Responsibilities:
Client Partnership and Account Management
- Support clients with coverage placement, renewals, claims coordination, policy analysis, and related service needs
- Serve as a trusted day-to-day resource for clients, responding promptly to service requests and coverage questions
- Collaborate with carriers, underwriters, and producer partners to deliver effective coverage solutions
- Build and maintain strong client relationships that support long-term retention and service excellence
- Contribute to client retention initiatives and identify opportunities for account growth
Operational Excellence
- Manage a book of approximately 70 commercial accounts while effectively prioritizing competing deadlines, service requests, and renewal activity
- Coordinate renewals and policy servicing activities to ensure a seamless client experience
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within agency management systems such as AMS360 or EPIC
- Ensure policy accuracy, regulatory compliance, and adherence to internal procedures
- Support audits, reporting, and carrier or client requests as needed
Strategic Contribution
- Assist in identifying coverage gaps, risk exposures, and improvement opportunities
- Partner with producers and internal teams to support new business opportunities and client retention efforts
- Support department goals related to growth, efficiency, and client satisfaction
Qualifications:
What You Bring
Required
- 3+ years of Commercial Lines Account Management experience within an insurance agency, brokerage, or carrier environment
- Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced team environment
- Experience using AMS360, EPIC, or similar agency management systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and agency management systems
- Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and accountability
Preferred
- Active Property & Casualty License strongly preferred
- Experience working directly with producers, underwriters, and carrier partners
- Knowledge of commercial insurance coverages, policy forms, and renewal processes
- Experience supporting small to middle-market commercial accounts

Additional Information:
Compensation:
- Salary range: $65,000 – $85,000 annually, based on experience.
- Eligible for annual performance-based incentive opportunities

Work Model:
This is a hybrid position based out of our Pittsfield, MA office. Candidates should be able to work in-office at least one day per week, with additional in-office time expected during onboarding and training.
