Commercial Lines Product Manager
Commercial Package & Small Business Insurance
Location: Florida (Hybrid)
Compensation: $120,000 - $150,000 Base Salary + Comprehensive Benefits
A growing Property & Casualty insurance organization is seeking a Commercial Lines Product Manager to help lead the strategy, performance, and ongoing development of its commercial package product portfolio. This position will play a key role in managing a growing book of business while partnering across underwriting, actuarial, technology, claims, operations, and distribution to drive profitable growth initiatives.
This is a highly visible role offering the opportunity to influence product strategy, portfolio performance, underwriting direction, and future commercial product expansion efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Portfolio Management
- Drive the overall performance and profitability of commercial package insurance products.
- Monitor key business metrics including growth, retention, profitability, and portfolio performance.
- Evaluate market opportunities and recommend enhancements to product offerings, pricing approaches, underwriting guidelines, and coverage structures.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to develop and execute short- and long-term product strategies.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activity, regulatory developments, and customer needs to support strategic decision making.
Portfolio Performance
- Manage portfolio results across multiple dimensions including class of business, geography, distribution channel, and industry segment.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability and support sustainable growth.
- Collaborate closely with actuarial, underwriting, and analytics teams to evaluate performance trends and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
- Develop and present portfolio insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
Product Development & Innovation
- Lead product enhancement initiatives from concept through implementation.
- Contribute to future commercial product development and expansion efforts.
- Support modernization initiatives focused on improving competitiveness, operational efficiency, and customer experience.
- Help identify opportunities for new products and adjacent market growth.
Technology & System Implementation
- Serve as a key business partner during technology enhancements and platform modernization efforts.
- Translate business objectives into functional requirements, workflows, and implementation priorities.
- Work closely with technology, operations, and vendor partners to ensure successful delivery of product capabilities.
- Participate in testing, implementation planning, issue resolution, and ongoing product optimization.
Underwriting Partnership
- Act as a strategic partner to underwriting leadership on risk selection, product performance, and portfolio management initiatives.
- Review and evaluate complex underwriting referrals and business exceptions within established authority guidelines.
- Provide expertise on underwriting appetite, eligibility, coverage interpretation, and portfolio strategy.
- Support ongoing refinement of underwriting guidelines and best practices.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner with teams across underwriting, actuarial, claims, operations, compliance, finance, marketing, and distribution.
- Support product rollouts, growth initiatives, and process improvement efforts.
- Engage with agents, brokers, and distribution partners to better understand market needs and improve ease of doing business.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- 5+ years of Property & Casualty insurance experience with significant Commercial Lines exposure.
- Experience working with commercial package, businessowners, small commercial, or middle market products.
- Product management, portfolio management, underwriting, or line-of-business leadership experience.
- Prior underwriting authority or referral decision-making experience.
- Experience partnering on system implementations, product modernization projects, or technology-driven initiatives is highly preferred.

Education & Designations
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
- CPCU, ARM, AU, or similar industry designations preferred.
