Location: This is a full-time, on-site opportunity based in Houston, Texas.

Note: Candidates must be licensed and in good standing with the Texas Bar and should have 2+ years of litigation experience. Prior personal injury experience is not required, but it is preferred, and this role will involve a personal injury-heavy caseload.

Job Description

  • Handle a litigation caseload in which at least 50%, and likely more, of the matters involve personal injury
  • Manage the remainder of the caseload in commercial litigation matters
  • Represent clients in depositions, court hearings, mediations, and other legal proceedings
  • Serve as lead counsel in smaller arbitrations and trials and as second chair or co-lead in larger matters
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation strategy and case development
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other legal filings
  • Advise clients on litigation strategy, case evaluation, dispute resolution, and risk management
  • Participate in settlement negotiations and work toward favorable outcomes
  • Collaborate with attorneys, staff, clients, and experts to move matters forward effectively
  • Oversee litigation from discovery and motion practice through trial preparation and post-trial proceedings
  • Maintain accurate timekeeping and support timely billing and documentation

Qualifications

  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Active Texas Bar membership in good standing
  • 2+ years of litigation experience in commercial litigation, personal injury, or another relevant civil litigation practice
  • Experience handling depositions, hearings, and courtroom advocacy
  • Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters with professionalism and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
  • Experience with trial preparation and litigation strategy preferred
  • Prior personal injury experience preferred, but not required
