Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Paralegal to join their legal team in Columbia, SC. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced litigation environment and enjoys supporting attorneys through every stage of the litigation process.
Support attorneys throughout all phases of commercial litigation, from case inception through trial.
Prepare, draft, file, and serve legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
Conduct legal research by reviewing statutes, case law, and other relevant legal resources.
Organize and maintain both electronic and physical case files.
Coordinate all aspects of the discovery process, including document collection, production, and review.
Communicate with clients, expert witnesses, opposing counsel, and court personnel regarding case updates and deadlines.
Assist with trial preparation by organizing exhibits, preparing witness lists, coordinating logistics, and managing trial materials.
Track court deadlines and ensure compliance with applicable rules, procedures, and filing requirements.
Provide general administrative and litigation support to attorneys as needed.
Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies, Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Paralegal certification is preferred but not required.
Minimum of 5 years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably in commercial litigation.
Strong understanding of litigation procedures, court rules, and legal terminology.
Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor.
