Job DetailsThe Commercial Litigation Paralegal will provide comprehensive support to attorneys handling complex business and commercial disputes.
The ideal candidate will have substantial experience managing litigation files from inception through trial, including discovery, motion practice, case management, and trial preparation.
Responsibilities
Assist attorneys in all phases of commercial litigation, from case inception through trial and appeal.
Draft, prepare, and file pleadings, motions, notices, subpoenas, and other court documents in state and federal courts.
Manage and organize litigation files, case calendars, and deadlines.
Conduct legal and factual research utilizing online databases and public records.
Coordinate and manage written discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admission, and subpoenas.
Review, organize, summarize, and analyze large volumes of documents and records.
Prepare document productions and manage e-discovery processes.
Draft discovery responses and assist with privilege log preparation.
Coordinate depositions, mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trial proceedings.
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, experts, and third-party vendors.
Prepare trial notebooks, witness files, exhibit lists, hearing binders, and demonstrative evidence.
Assist attorneys with witness preparation and trial logistics.
Monitor court filings and maintain litigation docketing systems.
Prepare case summaries, chronologies, and damages analyses.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3+ years of commercial litigation paralegal experience in a law firm environment.
Strong knowledge of Florida state and federal court rules and procedures.
Experience supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation, including trial preparation.
Proficiency with e-filing in Florida state and federal courts.
Experience with e-discovery platforms, litigation databases, and document management systems.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Paralegal certificate and/or equivalent legal experience preferred.
Complex commercial and business litigation.
Contract disputes and business tort claims.
Construction litigation.
Real estate and property-related disputes.
Shareholder and partnership disputes.
Banking and financial services litigation.
Arbitration and mediation proceedings.
Trial experience in state and federal courts.
