DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:- Collaborated with project managers and engineers to develop competitive bids and value engineering proposals.
- Maintained strong vendor relationships to ensure accurate pricing on materials and subcontractor quotes.
- Identified cost-saving opportunities and helped reduce average bid variance by 15% over two years.
- Attended site visits and pre-bid meetings to assess project feasibility and gather critical information.
- Participated in project meetings and site visits to collect essential data and clarify project requirements
- Work closely with the Bid Coordinator and estimating team to manage the bid calendar and ensure timely submission of proposals
- Preparing accurate construction cost estimates for mechanical systems, evaluating project specifications, and assessing bidding opportunities.
- Work closely with the project management team to analyze budgets, identify potential risks, and ensure adherence to financial targets.
- Maintaining effective communication with vendors, clients, and internal teams to ensure project timelines and objectives are met efficiently.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: - Estimated HVAC project costs for residential, commercial, and mixed-use buildings ranging from $10K to $3M in scope.
- Interpreted blueprints, specifications, and scope documents to produce accurate material takeoffs and labor costs.
- Used estimation software (e.g., Trimble, FastPIPE, PlanSwift) for digital takeoffs and bid submissions.
- HVAC: 3 years (Preferred)
- Multifamily construction: 1 year (Preferred)
- Blueprint reading: 2 years (Preferred)
