    • Teach courses as assigned in Commercial Music and related areas of expertise.
    • Organize and lead the development of coursework in the Commercial Music degree in conjunction with other music, media arts, and entrepreneurship faculty.
    • Additional duties may be assigned in accordance with areas of expertise and in consultation with the Director of the School of Music.

    Required Qualifications

    • Graduate degree in music production, music engineering, music technology, recording arts, or similar field. Commensurate professional experience in music production may be considered in lieu of a graduate degree.
    • Professional teaching experience in higher education (beyond GA duties) in the field of music technology, production, or related areas.
    • Experience using and teaching a variety of Digital Audio Workstations and virtual instruments.
    • Experience producing and teaching a variety of popular musical styles and genres.
    • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience teaching music theory fundamentals and aural skills for audio engineers.
    • Experience teaching class guitar (electric and acoustic).
    • Experience organizing/coaching/leading student popular music ensembles.

    The School of Music is located in a state-of-the-art 119,000 square foot facility with a 500-seat concert hall housing a 61-rank Casavant organ, a 100-seat recital hall, recording facilities, and 79 practice rooms. The School of Music has 38 full- and part-time faculty and an enrollment of over 300 undergraduate and graduate majors and minors.
