Role Overview
The Commercial Operations Associate Intern supports proposal development, commercial process improvement, sales support, and reporting activities across Mitsubishi Power. This role coordinates with Commercial Operations, Sales, Engineering, Finance, and implementation teams to help develop accurate proposals, support pricing and approval activities, and improve commercial workflows. The internship provides hands-on exposure to commercial operations in the power generation industry while building skills in business analysis, proposal coordination, communication, and cross-functional project support.
Key Responsibilities
- Support proposal development for Regional Sales Managers, Product Line Managers, and other Sales and Marketing stakeholders.
- Assist with competitive intelligence, market research, forecasting, market pricing, and commercial process documentation.
- Coordinate proposal inputs and communications across Commercial Operations, Sales, Engineering, Finance, and implementation teams.
- Support development of deal pricing and preparation for Grants of Authority approval meetings.
- Assist with presentations, customer meetings, site visits, shop tours, and other commercial activities.
- Prepare sales and marketing reports and follow up with stakeholders to verify data accuracy and completeness.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that simplify commercial processes and improve responsiveness.
- Assist with special assignments and additional departmental priorities as needed.
- Protect confidential information and comply with applicable safety, ethics, and company requirements.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program focused on Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Interest in commercial operations, proposal development, sales support, business analytics, or the power generation industry.
- Ability to read and follow instructions, prepare basic business correspondence, and present information in individual or small-group settings.
- Strong organizational and reasoning skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and meet short deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet-based business applications.
- Exposure to Power BI, CRM or opportunity management software, spreadsheets, or reporting tools is preferred.
- Spanish language capability is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and communicate effectively with employees at different organizational levels.
- Ability to meet physical requirements, including standing, walking, bending, and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds in environments where personal protective equipment may be required.
