Position Summary
Universal Electrical Service is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager / Estimator with a strong commercial electrical background and, ideally, previous field experience. This position combines estimating, project management, client communication, and project coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate electrical estimates, bids, and proposals for commercial projects.
Perform detailed material and labor takeoffs from plans and specifications.
Review project scope, drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
Develop project budgets, schedules, and cost projections.
Coordinate with customers, general contractors, vendors, subcontractors, and field personnel.
Manage projects from estimating through completion.
Review change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
Assist with procurement, material pricing, and project forecasting.
Maintain strong communication with field leadership and project stakeholders.
Identify potential project risks, scope gaps, and cost issues.
Ideal Candidate
5–7+ years of electrical estimating experience
Procore and/or Accubid
Strong commercial electrical construction experience
Previous field experience strongly preferred — Journeyman, Lead, Foreman, General Foreman, or Superintendent background
Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and specifications
Strong understanding of electrical materials, installation methods, and labor requirements
Experience with Bluebeam and estimating/takeoff software
Strong knowledge of electrical construction and project sequencing
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
