Position Summary
Universal Electrical Service is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager / Estimator with a strong commercial electrical background and, ideally, previous field experience. This position combines estimating, project management, client communication, and project coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate electrical estimates, bids, and proposals for commercial projects.
- Perform detailed material and labor takeoffs from plans and specifications.
- Review project scope, drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Develop project budgets, schedules, and cost projections.
- Coordinate with customers, general contractors, vendors, subcontractors, and field personnel.
- Manage projects from estimating through completion.
- Review change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
- Assist with procurement, material pricing, and project forecasting.
- Maintain strong communication with field leadership and project stakeholders.
- Identify potential project risks, scope gaps, and cost issues.
Ideal Candidate
- 5–7+ years of electrical estimating experience
- Procore and/or Accubid
- Strong commercial electrical construction experience
- Previous field experience strongly preferred — Journeyman, Lead, Foreman, General Foreman, or Superintendent background
- Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and specifications
- Strong understanding of electrical materials, installation methods, and labor requirements
- Experience with Bluebeam and estimating/takeoff software
- Strong knowledge of electrical construction and project sequencing
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
