A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Commercial Project Manager / Project Controller, you will serve as the commercial and financial lead for complex projects, partnering closely with the Project Management organization to ensure successful project execution and strong financial performance. Your day may include managing project financials, leading forecasting and reporting activities, overseeing revenue recognition, supporting risk management initiatives, and providing financial guidance throughout the project lifecycle. You will collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Legal, Tax, and Project Management teams to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, financial guidelines, and internal controls. This role offers the opportunity to influence business performance while driving commercial excellence across complex project portfolios.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Manage all commercial and financial aspects of assigned projects, including financial planning, forecasting, revenue recognition, cash flow management, project profitability, financing instruments, and overall commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle
- Lead monthly financial close and revenue recognition activities while ensuring compliance with IFRS 15, internal financial reporting guidelines, accounting standards, and internal control requirements
- Prepare and present commercial reports, financial forecasts, project status updates, cash flow analyses, and executive-level reporting to support informed decision-making and project governance
- Partner with Project Management to identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks, reduce non-conformance costs, improve reporting structures, and incorporate lessons learned into ongoing and future projects
- Collaborate with Accounting, Legal, Tax, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, financial policies, and project governance requirements while supporting complex commercial matters
- Drive continuous process improvement initiatives, support special projects, and respond to ad hoc business requests that enhance financial performance, reporting efficiency, and operational excellence
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, commercial project management, project controlling, or a related finance role, preferably supporting complex project environments
- Strong knowledge of financial planning, forecasting, revenue recognition, IFRS, project controlling, financial reporting, cash flow management, internal controls, and commercial project financial management
- Experience working with SAP, Microsoft Office, and analytical tools such as Alteryx and Tableau, with the ability to independently manage complex financial analyses, forecasting, and reporting activities
- Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders, manage multiple priorities, and work successfully in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
