COMMERCIAL PROPERTY MANAGER

Location: Newbury Park, CA
Pay Range: $33-$38 per hour + leasing commissions
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM (35 hours/week)

Position Overview

A well‑established property management organization is seeking an experienced Commercial Property Manager to oversee daily operations of a commercial industrial property in Newbury Park, CA. This role partners closely with leadership to manage tenant relationships, operations, financial performance, and leasing activities while maintaining a high standard of customer service and property condition.

The position manages approximately 179,000 square feet of multi‑tenant commercial/industrial space and requires a proactive, solution‑oriented professional who can balance operational excellence with tenant satisfaction and profitability.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of property operations including building systems, security, janitorial services, landscaping, and parking
  • Manage leasing activities, including preparation of lease documentation, renewals, and interpretation of commercial lease agreements
  • Support marketing efforts to attract and retain tenants
  • Maintain strong tenant relationships to promote retention and satisfaction
  • Assist with preparation of annual operating budgets, capital expenditures, CAM estimates, reconciliations, and monthly financial reports
  • Manage property administration and accounting functions including accounts payable/receivable, rent rolls, lease administration, certificates of insurance, delinquencies, and collections
  • Handle small claims matters and attend court appearances as required
  • Manage tenant improvements and capital projects, including vendor selection, bid reviews, construction coordination, and build‑outs
  • Demonstrate initiative in identifying building and tenant needs and implementing improvements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant commercial property management experience
  • Experience managing multi‑tenant office, industrial, or warehouse properties
  • Strong understanding of commercial lease agreements
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office and Yardi
  • Exceptional organization, time management, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion with confidential information
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self‑motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • High level of professionalism and integrity
  • Valid California driver's license and insurance; willingness to use personal vehicle for local travel (mileage reimbursed)
  • Position requires an on‑site presence and is not eligible for remote work
