Position OverviewThe firm is seeking attorneys to focus on sophisticated commercial real estate acquisitions and sales. Ideal candidates will have experience representing buyers, sellers, developers, investors, and other clients in complex real estate transactions from initial negotiation through closing.
Candidates should possess strong legal, analytical, negotiation, and client-management skills, along with the ability to manage multiple transactions while working collaboratively with clients, attorneys, lenders, brokers, title companies, and other professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Represent clients in the acquisition and disposition of commercial real estate assets.
Draft, review, and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, letters of intent, amendments, assignments, and related transaction documents.
Conduct and oversee due diligence, including title, survey, zoning, environmental, entity, and property-related matters.
Identify and analyze legal and business risks associated with real estate transactions and provide practical solutions.
Coordinate and manage transactions from initial negotiations through closing.
Review and negotiate title commitments, title insurance policies, surveys, easements, restrictions, leases, and other real estate documents.
Work closely with clients, brokers, lenders, title companies, surveyors, consultants, and opposing counsel to facilitate transactions.
Prepare and review closing documents and coordinate closing requirements.
Assist with entity formation, organizational documents, and authority matters related to real estate transactions.
Provide strategic legal advice regarding transaction structure, risk allocation, and contractual obligations.
Manage multiple transactions and deadlines while maintaining a high level of responsiveness and attention to detail.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior attorneys and support staff as appropriate.
Maintain strong professional relationships with clients and contribute to the continued growth of the firms real estate practice.
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school.
Active Texas Bar license and good standing.
2+ years of commercial real estate transactional experience.
Strong experience with commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions.
Ability to draft and negotiate sophisticated real estate transaction documents.
Strong analytical, organizational, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to responsive client service.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with attorneys, clients, and other professionals.
