Commercial Roofing Senior Estimator – Southeast Region
Location: Southeast Region – Candidate can be based in Greer/Charleston SC, Jacksonville, FL, or Raleigh, NCCompensation: $100,000–$130,000 Base + Performance-Based Bonus Opportunities Employment Type: Full-Time
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing Senior Estimator to support projects throughout the Southeast Region. This is a senior-level opportunity for an accomplished estimator who brings strong technical roofing knowledge, advanced estimating capabilities, and the ability to lead complex projects from initial bid through preconstruction.
The Senior Estimator will develop accurate, competitive, and profitable estimates for commercial roofing and waterproofing projects while partnering closely with Sales, Business Development, Operations, Project Management, and Executive Leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead estimating efforts for large and complex commercial roofing and waterproofing projects, including multi-million-dollar opportunities
- Review drawings, specifications, bid documents, and contract requirements
- Perform detailed digital takeoffs and prepare comprehensive project estimates
- Estimate labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, mobilization, overhead, safety requirements, and profit
- Develop estimates for new construction, re-roofing, recover systems, restoration/coatings, waterproofing, sheet metal, and specialty roofing
- Prepare detailed proposals, alternates, qualifications, clarifications, and margin reviews
- Conduct site visits to evaluate existing conditions, project logistics, safety requirements, and potential risks
- Work with manufacturers, suppliers, subcontractors, general contractors, owners, architects, and consultants to obtain competitive pricing
- Participate in strategic bid reviews, Go/No-Go decisions, and preconstruction meetings
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior estimators
- Maintain estimating data and assist leadership with bid activity, forecasting, backlog, and estimating KPIs
Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial roofing estimating experience
- Advanced proficiency with The EDGE V.12 estimating software
- Extensive knowledge of TPO, PVC, EPDM, Modified Bitumen, BUR, metal roofing, coatings, and waterproofing
- Strong blueprint, specification, and contract-document interpretation skills
- Experience preparing negotiated proposals, conceptual budgets, and design-build estimates
- Strong understanding of project costs, margins, profitability, and risk
- Proven leadership, mentoring, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to safely access rooftops and active construction environments
- Willingness to travel throughout the Southeast Region for project sites, customer meetings, and pre-bid conferences, including occasional overnight travel
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to successfully complete pre-employment screening requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Bluebeam Revu, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar construction software
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- OSHA 30 Certification
- Commercial roofing manufacturer certifications
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
