Core responsibilities
- Load, secure, and transport materials to customer locations.
- Use maps or written instructions to reach each destination.
- Assess site safety; wear PPE; unload with care.
- Operate boom cranes or other mounted equipment as needed.
- Complete daily inspections for truck and lifts (including mobile/Moffett).
- Maintain ELDs; complete manual logs when required.
- Comply with all DOT/licensing requirements and company SOPs.
- Flex to nights, weekends, or early mornings as business needs arise.
- Stage boxes and prepare crates using available equipment.
- Load/unload pipe and materials from flatbed and box trailers.
- Secure loads with straps/bundles; ensure tags and paperwork are accurate.
- Communicate clearly with customers; obtain signatures and photos as needed.
- Handle additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education to follow standard practices, take oral instruction, perform simple arithmetic, and keep basic records (high school or equivalent).
- Current CDL with equipment certifications (crane, industrial truck).
- At least 6 months of prior driving experience preferred.
- Comfort with keypads/keyboards; RF/barcoding experience is helpful.
- 1+ year thriving in a multitask, time-sensitive environment.
- Competency with whole-number and decimal arithmetic.
Legal and compliance
Ability to pass a DOT physical and maintain a Medical Certificate, as well as complying with random DOT drug and alcohol testing as required by FMCSA Regulations.
