We are currently searching for a shop service technician for a regional leader in the distribution & maintenance of various products and equipment in the turf industry. This is a stationary service mechanic position based in West Chester, PA servicing clients who own, rent utilize a wide variety of small engines including mowers, blowers, all-terrain vehicles and anything else used in the turf industry.
The ideal candidate will have... Experience troubleshooting and repairing complex electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems
Experience with reel and rotary cutting unit troubleshooting and repair
Experience with troubleshooting and repair of turf spray systems
Experience with troubleshooting and repair of gas and diesel engines, electronic fuel delivery systems
- Experience using and understanding specialized tools and equipment including, but not limited to: electrical and hydraulic testing, reel and bedknife grinders, engine diagnostic tools and software, and various measuring devices (micrometer, ruler, gages, etc.).
Commercial Service Mechanic Responsibilities
- Toro systems certification within the first year of employment
- General abilities with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to use or learn diagnostic software; Toro Diag, Yanmar Smart Assist, Kubota, Kolher
- Incorporate user complaints, observation, test results, and experience to correctly diagnose equipment problems
- Complete equipment repairs and maintenance efficiently, correctly and to the best of his/her ability
- Read and understand written instructions, service updates, schematics, maintenance schedules and technical publications
- Responsible for completing all appropriate paperwork associated with the setup warranty and repair of equipment
- Responsible for learning an overview of the products and services represented by Turf Equipment and communicating them to customers when appropriate
- Participate in monthly employee meeting
- Comply with company policies
- Read and understand all published Service bulletins and Alerts
- Understand and work within vendor warranty guidelines
- Ordering correct repair parts to effectively complete repair process
- Maintain a neat, clean, and functional work area
- Keep accurate time records of repair work to ensure proper billing
- Work with and assist other technicians to support the general technical knowledge of the service shop
- Inform the Shop Foreman and or Service Manager of any unforeseen issues with equipment or repair
- Responsible for improving job performance and efficiency
