Austin is booming with new commercial construction and tech-driven expansion and we re looking for motivated Level 1 Telecom Technicians ready to get in the field and grow.

TradeSTAR is partnering with a respected low-voltage contractor seeking entry-level to early-career structured cabling technicians for commercial projects across the Austin area. If you ve got hands-on experience and want to build a long-term career in telecom, this is your opportunity.

What You ll Do

• Pull, route, and label Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cable

• Install support structures like J-hooks, bridle rings, and cable tray

• Assist with workstation outlet terminations (110-style, modular jacks)

• Support closet buildouts and basic rack/patch panel work

• Follow prints and direction from lead techs on commercial job sites

• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas

What You Bring

• 6 months to 2 years of structured cabling or telecom experience

• Basic knowledge of low-voltage cabling systems and tools

• Experience pulling and identifying cable in commercial environments

• Familiarity with EIA/TIA standards is a plus

• Ability to work on ladders and lifts when needed

• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn from experienced techs
