An established commercial general contractor is seeking a Superintendent to oversee ground-up construction projects throughout Northern Virginia, with a focus on K-12, municipal, community, and government facilities. This individual will take ownership of all on-site operations, collaborating with project teams, owners, architects, and subcontractors to successfully deliver projects ranging from $20M to $140M.

Description
The Superintendent will be responsible for:
- Leading all day-to-day field operations for commercial construction projects.
- Managing ground-up projects from site mobilization through project completion.
- Coordinating subcontractors, vendors, architects, owners, and internal project teams.
- Reviewing and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Conducting constructability reviews and proactively resolving field challenges.
- Developing and maintaining project schedules, ensuring milestones are achieved.
- Overseeing site logistics, material deliveries, and workforce planning.
- Maintaining detailed daily reports, progress updates, and project documentation.
- Enforcing quality control standards and ensuring work meets project specifications.
- Championing jobsite safety and maintaining compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Partnering closely with Project Managers throughout the lifecycle of each project.
- Serving as the primary on-site leader, driving successful project execution and client satisfaction.
Profile
A successful Superintendent should have:
- 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent with a commercial general contractor.
- Proven experience managing ground-up commercial construction projects valued at $20M+.
- Ability to independently lead large-scale projects, ideally up to $40M.
- Experience within K-12, municipal, community, government, or similar commercial sectors.
- Strong understanding of construction documents, scheduling, and field operations.
- Experience coordinating with owners, architects, subcontractors, and project teams.
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification required.
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, BuildingConnected, and related construction technology platforms.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Must be willing to travel throughout Northern Virginia and surrounding project locations.
