The Opportunity


You will play a pivotal role in the pre-construction phase by transforming complex architectural blueprints into precise, actionable data. Your expertise in material quantification ensures that our all-in-house trade teams have the exact resources needed to deliver unmatched technical excellence.


How You Will Make an Impact


  • Analyze detailed construction drawings and specifications to determine total project requirements.
  • Quantify raw materials, specialized equipment, and labor hours with high precision.
  • Calculate comprehensive cost estimates to ensure competitive and profitable project bidding.
  • Collaborate with in-house trade leads to verify technical assumptions and material needs.
  • Document all take-off data systematically to support procurement and project management teams.
  • Identify potential design discrepancies or cost-saving opportunities during the blueprint review phase.


Required Qualifications & Experience


  • Proven experience performing material take-offs and cost estimation for commercial projects.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret complex architectural and engineering blueprints.
  • Proficiency in construction estimation software and mathematical modeling.
  • Demonstrated understanding of material market pricing and commercial labor workflows.


Preferred Qualifications & Experience


  • Prior experience in a multi-trade environment where electrical, plumbing, and mechanical are handled in-house.
  • Advanced proficiency in digital take-off software such as Bluebeam or Stack.
  • Local market knowledge of construction suppliers and subcontractors in the Virginia region.
