Job Position: Commercial Telecommunications & Structured Cabling
Location: Temple, TX 76508
Pay Rate: $22 $28/hr|
TradeSTAR is hiring experienced Telecom Technicians for commercial telecommunications and network infrastructure projects in the Temple area. These positions support new construction, technology upgrades, healthcare facilities, educational campuses, industrial facilities, and enterprise network deployments.
We are seeking technicians with experience installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting telecommunications systems in commercial environments.
Job Responsibilities
Install, route, and support structured cabling systems for voice, data, and network communications
Pull and dress Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cabling through conduit, cable tray, ladder rack, and J-hook pathways
Terminate copper cabling on patch panels, keystone jacks, 110 blocks, and network equipment
Install and terminate single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cabling
Build, organize, and maintain MDF and IDF telecommunications rooms
Install network racks, ladder rack systems, cable management, and grounding infrastructure
Perform cable testing, certification, and troubleshooting using Fluke testers and fiber testing equipment
Install backbone and horizontal cabling systems in accordance with project specifications
Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, riser diagrams, rack elevations, and cable schedules
Label and document telecommunications infrastructure in accordance with ANSI/TIA standards
Troubleshoot connectivity issues, cable faults, and network infrastructure deficiencies
Coordinate with project managers, IT personnel, and other trades during installation activities
Technical Requirements
Experience with commercial telecommunications or structured cabling installations
Knowledge of copper and fiber optic cabling systems
Experience terminating and testing voice and data infrastructure
Understanding of telecommunications rooms, rack layouts, and cable management standards
Ability to read construction drawings and telecommunications documentation
Familiarity with ANSI/TIA standards and industry installation practices
Ability to work from ladders and lifts in commercial construction environments
Reliable transportation and industry-standard hand tools required
Preferred Experience
Fluke cable certification testing
OTDR and fiber testing
Fusion splicing
Healthcare, industrial, education, or enterprise environments
BICSI training or certifications
