Position Title
Commercial Tire Service Technician
Position Summary
The Commercial Tire Service Technician is responsible for the inspection, repair, replacement, mounting, balancing, and servicing of commercial truck, industrial, agricultural, and off-the-road tires. This position requires safe operation of service vehicles and equipment while delivering exceptional customer service both in-shop and on roadside service calls.
Key Responsibilities
Perform tire mounting, dismounting, balancing, rotating, and repairs on commercial vehicles and equipment
Conduct roadside service calls in a safe, professional, and timely manner
Inspect tires, wheels, and related components for wear, damage, and proper inflation
Operate service trucks and equipment safely and in compliance with company and DOT regulations
Complete work orders, service documentation, and customer signatures accurately
Maintain clean and organized work areas, service trucks, and equipment
Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, managers, and customers regarding service needs and job status
Assist with inventory control and proper handling of tires and materials
Participate in after-hours emergency roadside service rotation as required
Promote a positive company image through professionalism and customer service
Requirements
Qualifications
Previous tire service or mechanical experience preferred, but willing to train motivated candidates
Valid driver’s license required; commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Ability to read and complete work orders and service paperwork accurately
Strong commitment to safety and customer satisfaction
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy tires and equipment regularly
Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various weather conditions for extended periods
Ability to safely operate jacks, air tools, compressors, and heavy equipment
Must be able to respond to roadside service calls at various times, including nights and weekends if required

Indoor and outdoor work environments
Exposure to varying weather conditions, heavy equipment, and moving vehicles
Fast-paced commercial service environment with customer interaction daily
